Janet Adams – Religious School Head Teacher

Janet Adams has been a member of Temple Emanuel since her family joined in 1972.   Her mother Muriel, served as the Temple receptionist for more than 30 years and her father, Walter, is a past President of Temple Emanuel.  Janet grew up and celebrated her Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation under Rabbi Gerald Brieger and later became the first graduate of Makom, our region’s Hebrew program for post Bnai Mitzvah teens.

Janet has been teaching at Temple Emanuel since 1995 and became Head Teacher of TE Religious School in 2009. In addition, in 2011 she became the President of Temple Emanuel Sisterhood. Outside of the synagogue, Janet works out of her home full time for Unitedhealth Care.  Janet resides in Naugatuck with her husband, Jeff, and her daughter, Laura, who also grew up in Temple Emanuel and recently celebrated her own Bat Mitzvah.
